Dr. Ray Pope

Currently, Dr. Pope enjoys his private practice at Action Potential Chiropractic on Camano Island, Washington. Dr. Pope is author of The Power of 90, a FREE online wellness program and an Ambassador for Sherman College relations and recruitment. While his business and professional life is full, family is paramount. Dr. Pope, his wife Carol, and their children (and usually a couple of friends) strive to enjoy each day. Whenever possible, they learn, play, travel and grow together.

Ray was raised in Rochester, New York. While in high school, he earned his Eagle Scout Award and was Captain of the swim team. He attended Shepherd College in West Virginia. In 1985, he graduated summa cum laude from Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic and was valedictorian of his class. In addition to a two year intern program at the Sherman College Health Center, Dr. Pope completed an externship with Dr. Graziano of Somers Point, New Jersey. Dr. Pope attended the Toftness Post Graduate School in Cumberland, Wisconsin, where he was trained in advanced low force adjustive technique by the late I.N. Toftness, D.C., PhC.

After leaving New Jersey, Ray, his wife Carol, and their son Zachary moved to Edmonds, Washington and opened Pope Chiropractic Center . Dr. Pope was active in the Chamber of Commerce, the Edmonds Rotary, and was elected Chairman of District #9 of the Chiropractic Society of Washington. Carol and Ray stayed active in their church and added Carrie and Eli to their family.

In 1990, Dr. Pope sold his private practice to his associate, and went on a short term mission to Ecuador for the Christian Chiropractors Association . Dr. Pope was interviewed by HCJB : The Voice of the Andes regarding experiences he had while adjusting inmates in an Ecuadorian prison.

Upon returning, Dr. Pope's concept for a different, affordable practice soon found roots when the Pope family built a home on Camano Island. Within months, that vision had become a reality and the community quickly proved that time had come for a quiet practice with loud patients. This small practice grew to become Action Potential Chiropractic, Inc, and now provides quality chiropractic care to residents of Camano Island and surrounding areas.

The cover story in the March/April 1994 issue of Today's Chiropractic was written by Dr. Pope. The article features Graham Kerr and reveals his intriguing thirty year commitment to chiropractic care. The national article sparked the interest of an Eastern Pennsylvania radio station who interviewed Dr. Pope about his short term mission trip in 1993 with a team of various doctors and nurses to Baja, Mexico. This interview became a two-part radio program on a number of subjects, including his unique practice style.

Dr. Pope has been a speaker for the FSCO's Triune Seminar in North Carolina, San Francisco and Seattle. Eventually, traveling interfered with his growing family, so he jumped into regional youth programs including church camps and scouting programs. In 2002, he was honored as Tyee Venture Crew Advisor of the Year and in 2005 he was voted Best Chiropractor serving Camano, Stanwood and the surrounding area.

Hitting that perfect tee shot. Growing a beautiful garden. Landing the ultimate contract. Playing with the grandchildren. Walks with friends. Reflective times with a spouse. These are just some of the activities people have told me they love to do. Then, I always ask the same question: "When are you planning to give up doing it?"

Usually, they stare at me like I just asked them what planet they came from. A flicker of enlightenment finally brightens their eye and they say, "Well...never!"

"What are you doing now to ensure that you will be physically able to enjoy that activity in the future?" This is usually were their eyes glaze over. All circuits overloaded.

Chiropractic wellness care is the answer! I've dedicated my life to making health and wellness an reality for my patients and practice members and I invite you to join in the fun.
